The awards events were part of the College’s new #InThisTogether strategy, which seeks to bring people together to support the transformation of lives in the mid-Nottinghamshire community.

The events showcased the breadth of work achieved over the last academic year, including the Community Stars volunteer programme, Let’s All Eat Food Pantries, and the achievements of learners from both the adult and Programme of Study Provision and courses. Over 70 volunteers were congratulated and thanked for their efforts in supporting local events and activities, fundraising for communities, and reducing food poverty.

Community Champions were recognised for their support and commitment to ATTFE College, including Taylor’s Transport, Ashfield District Council, Notts Fire and Rescue, Swiftool Precision Engineering, Lifespring Church, Edwinstowe in Broom, Salvation Army Church Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Sherwood Observatory. These partners have positively impacted the work and progression of ATTFE College over the last year, working in partnership to achieve a greater impact on our learners and communities.

Learner achievements were celebrated, from those who have increased confidence and shown resilience over the year to those who have gone above and beyond to raise funds for local worthy causes and those now engaging in enterprise, employment, and volunteering as a result of the skills learnt with the college.

A special recognition award was also presented to Joanne Parr, a local resident and pillar of the Sutton-in-Ashfield community, who has undertaken an incredible learning journey with ATTFE College over the years, while also supporting others in the community.

The events concluded with an overview of the exciting upcoming developments for the next academic year.

Liz Barrett OBE, ATTFE College’s Principal, said, “ATTFE College is a naturally inclusive lifelong learning organisation which is at the heart of the communities that it serves. It was a privilege to be able to celebrate the achievements of our learners, staff, stakeholders, and community partners. Together we make a difference. #InThisTogether”
