ATTFE College is delighted to be working in partnership with Ashfield District Council and the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund to support the development of literacy skills in the Ashfield area. This initiative has been created in response to the literacy skills gap within the district and will run until the 31st of March 2026.
We work closely with local nursery and primary schools, aiming to inspire families to develop a lifelong love of reading, while encouraging and supporting parents to share the joy of books with their children.
We also started to launch group and one-to-one English skills sessions for adults aged 16+. Our ‘A More Confident Me – English Skills’ sessions are designed to help you build confidence with everyday reading, writing, and listening skills. From filling out forms and reading letters, emails, or menus, to understanding and following basic instructions. These sessions are delivered in an inclusive and supportive environment, with opportunities to progress onto accredited English courses.
If you are part of a nursery, primary school, or local organisation that would benefit from our courses and activities, please get in touch by contacting Dianne.Holmes@attrust.org.uk.
