Jill has over 20 years’ experience working as a qualified senior teaching assistant in mainstream secondary schools working with students identified as having ‘Special Educational Needs’. In addition Jill has worked with ‘Gifted and Talented’ students, and mainly specialised with students identified as being on the Autistic Spectrum and ADHD and associated difficulties.

Previously Jill has served on a governing body at a large local primary school in the Ashfield area, for over 10 years, with roles linked to SEN, Complaints and various sub-committees.

Having gone back to education to update her qualifications, Jill has attended courses with ATTFE since February 2018. During this time Jill has gained recognised qualifications in Functional Skills English and maths at Level 2, ICT and Employability Skills at Level 1 and a range of Aim Awards qualifications such as horticulture and personal development.

Currently Jill is volunteering with ATTFE in English and maths, predominantly supporting learners as directed by tutors. This also serves as her placement for online training in the Award in Education and Training Level 3, which is a qualification she is working towards.

Finally, Jill’s previous experience and background in education will be beneficial to the Local Academy Committee and give her the opportunity to give something back to the college.
