Who is an Access or Pre-Access course for?

These courses are designed to support learners with the ambition to study a university degree in one of the following areas.

Pre-Access

This course will provide knowledge and skills for progression on to an Access to HE course, and may open the door to future opportunities in the Health Care Profession. Study will be portfolio-based and no exams will be taken; although you may wish to study GCSE or Functional Skills English and/or maths alongside. The entry requirements are Level 1 Functional Skills/GCSE in English and maths, completion of an initial assessment and an interview.

Access Learners

Access to Public Services

This course is designed to prepare learners for progression to university courses in Business, Law, Policing, Psychology, Public Services, Sociology and more. The entry requirements are completion of an initial Assessment and interview, with English and maths required at Level 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills as agreed by the admissions tutor at your chosen university).

Access to Health Care professions

This course is designed to prepare learners for progression to study Nursing, Midwifery, Health Science, Pharmacy, Paramedic Science, Radiography, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health and more. The entry requirements are completion of an initial assessment and interview with English and maths required at Level 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills as agreed by the admissions tutor at your chosen university).
