Qualifications Available:
- Level 2 Aim Award – Pre-access to HE Diploma – Health Professions
- Level 3 Aim Award – Access to HE Diploma – Health Professions
If you want to work in the world of nursing, midwifery or social science our career-focused courses will help you reach your goals.
An Access to a Higher Education Diploma (Level 3) is the equivalent of 3 A Levels, and rather than spend years working towards your qualification, you can obtain your Diploma in 12 months.
The Pre-Access (Level 2) course is ideal if you would like to enter the Access to Higher Education course but haven’t got the necessary GCSE grades.
Our Access to HE Diplomas give you the opportunity to apply for a degree in a health profession, such as Podiatry, Operating Department Practice (ODP), Occupational Therapy (OT), Dental Science and Speech and Language Therapy. This can lead to a career working in the NHS, private practice, the community, or research.
The Level 2 course gives learners the opportunity to build the essential skills and qualifications needed to progress to any of our Access to HE courses. The course comprises core modules in biology, sociology, psychology and study skills, as well as GCSEs in English and maths.
The range of work undertaken throughout the course ensures learners develop both academic and study skills and is designed to help applicants build a solid learning foundation in a welcoming and supportive environment. We want to help you to develop your subject knowledge and academic skills, but also to build new relationships, confidence and self-esteem.
This course is assessed by a combination of written assignments and portfolio work.
These courses support future pathways following a higher education route. Not all careers need a degree however, and an Access to HE Diploma in Health Professions or Science is also an excellent way to maximise your job prospects in roles such as clinical support staff, as well as therapy related or advocacy professions.
